LIFE IS AN

ADVENTURE

Michele & Mark’s Toy Camera Wedding

This summer I was able to be a guest at a wedding instead of the photographer!  This is a rare occurrence in my life, as most weekends I am booked photographing weddings and portraits.  My friends Michele & Mark tied the knot at The Lookout in Brooklin Maine, a gorgeous location near Blue Hill.  I had no worries about their photography, as the talented Andree Kehn was covering it.  It was such a blessing to have this day to catch up with friends, celebrate, and dance!  I’ve wanted to do some toy camera photographs at weddings but, have always felt too silly to whip out an i-phone alongside my Canon gear..  On this day I left my camera at home, and used the “hipstamatic” toy camera app to sneak a few photographs that I later made into an album for Mark & Michele.  (I must admit, it was adorable!).  I decided to arrive early and help out in any way that might be needed.  I love all things wedding, and know how the day runs, having photographed so many.  I checked in with my pooch Cubby, and went down to the girls cabin to bring them a cooler of icy cold waters and see if there was anything else they might need.  I spent most of my time down at the tent helping Megan Lord of Pencil Events with anything she needed.  I delivered the flowers and boutonnieres created by Megan to the guys and gals and then got ready in the farmhouse where I was staying with several friends and other guests.   Michele and Mark had a pre-cermony cocktail hour where they  greeted guests with smiles and happiness.  During this time, the tide had receded revealing a path marked with glass globes out to the island where Michele and Mark would say their vows.  I mean really, how amazing is that!?  Talk about planning!  Friends and family leisurely followed the path to the  ceremony, that was beautiful,  full of laughter and touching moments.  The post ceremony cocktail hour was unique with activities and craft tables enjoyed by both children and  grown-ups alike!  Dinner was equally fantastic, and the details and decor were gorgeous in orange, navy, and white. I was so honored to be a part of this day full of love, laughter, friendship, dancing, and shenanigans galore!  It was a good reminder that it is important to take time off from our busy schedules and enjoy the people you love.  That is what it’s really about, isn’t it?    Here’s to you Mark & Michele!!   Wishing you many adventures!

Life is Good ~ Enjoy  xoxo Rene
